Theme for the event was the probation era and over half of those attending dressed for the occasion.

The fire started in a stairwell and was caused by a malfunction of some equipment that was being used to spray on foam insulation.

Monticello Fire was one of 17 different departments that responded we were assigned to supply water to Freeport IL. Ladder Truck. All mutual aid was called up using the MABAS System.

We were treated to samples of some of Minhas products. This is in the new distilling area were we sampled "Moonshine" & "Apple Pie" Liquor.

Introduced at the event was a Red Ale brewed just for the event. All visiting firemen were given a take-home package of it.

In addition to the previous samples we were treated to some samples of some of their brewery labels ranging from Root Beer to Huber Bock.

We were treated to the showing of 3 videos. One on the fire and rebuilding. One on the Minhas family's efforts to get established in the brewing industry. The final video was done on a kidnapping that happened during prohibition time when the then owner of the brewery Fred Blumer was kidnapped by some of the Chicago mob and held for ransom. This was the theme for the event.
